Senior/Seasoned Security Engineers wanted for ongoing Contracting Relationships We are a growing security company in the San Francisco Bay Area that would like to develop long-term relationships with seasoned security engineers for contract security projects in the near term and on an ongoing basis. This position requires independent hands-on security implementation, as well as high-level analysis regarding products and the design and development of the architecture of systems. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills are a must, and business travel for this position will be required. At present we are looking for local candidates only please. Desired Qualifications Senior Security Engineers will have consulting experience and have CISSP certification and/or SANS security certification. A Bachelor�s degree or equivalent professional security experience is necessary. We are seeking candidates with 7-10 years plus of professional consulting security related experience. Candidates with government clearances are also preferable. Description and Job Responsibilities: We are only looking for experienced security engineers who have consulting experience. You must have strong initiative and leadership skills. Strong work ethic, responsibility and dedication are necessary. We are a startup and require hands on staff. You will have the ability to work independently and in a team environment. You are experienced with evaluating, designing and implementing real world security and network security policies in a corporate environment. You have been responsible for evaluating the vulnerabilities and security of existing network solutions, including routers, switches, hubs, servers and related software, LANs, WANs, E-Commerce, and VPNs. You should be knowledgeable in the design and the implementation of secure network design. You should be able to design and implement firewall, VPN, SSH and other network access solutions. You should have a good knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection. You should be experienced in network vulnerability and penetration testing. You should be experienced in OS hardening. Qualifications: Must understand networking, telecommunications, messaging and enterprise management and have a solid awareness of current technology solutions. Experience with Windows, Linux, Unix, Solaris, TCP/IP, and application security for messaging based architecture, firewalls, and data security. Have knowledge of enterprise security mechanisms and knowledge of federal security regulations and guidelines. Certifications in networking and security technology including any of the following: Cisco, Checkpoint, Microsoft, IBM, Sun, Citrix and Novell are an advantage. This position also requires extensive knowledge of various Unix and Microsoft operating systems, programming languages, shell programming, and telecommunications equipment.
