Position Description: Responsible for Information Technology, primarily focused on helping set IT strategy, meeting departmental objectives, and becoming a strategic asset to increase the value of IT to the Company and its executive and senior management. This position is both a hands-on and a managerial position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Responsible for economically achieving the department�s strategic objectives through detailed planning, technology evaluation, staffing and capital resources acquisition, identifies key IT options to be pursued and advises executive management. 2. Designs security and functional enhancements to the existing system which will efficiently deliver top level information to executive and senior managers. 3. Develops annual Departmental goals which support the company�s business plan and communicates these to users and managers. 4. Defines and seeks approval for the level of IT resources required to meet these goals and prioritizes and schedules major projects. 5. Accountable for all managerial and administrative aspects of the IT Department. 6. Ensures appropriate level of training and skill of subordinates. 7. Determines IT support initiatives for internal and external users. 8. Maintains the service oriented attitude of the department and provides responsible attention to user requests. 9. Defines the strategic role of IT and designs a plan for achieving that goal. Requires a thorough understanding of the company�s current plans, its business environment and long-range opportunities. Also requires a comprehensive understanding of IT technology. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED: 10-12 years progressively increasing responsibility in various IT functions, preferrably within a Banking or Financial Services organization. Minimum of 2 years of senior managerial experience. Extensive exposure to IT planning, project development and systems analysis. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills since the position interacts with all levels of employees and management. BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
