As the leading provider of email system perimeter protection services, Postini is seeking an experienced Security Systems Administrator to be responsible for Company wide information security and information risk management. This position demands a senior level individual who is comfortable writing and presenting complete security policy documents to potential customers. This is a very hands-on position that requires a level of professionalism suitable for presenting and explaining highly technical material to both internal staff and customers. Responsibilities: - � Define the security systems administration process, you will fulfill all requests to engineer and implement changes to various security services components including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, virus scanning and prevention systems, authentication and access control systems, audit trail management systems, and various other security related functions. - � Monitor all security event sources (audit logs and real-time events generated by security systems) for potential malicious activities including conducting rudimentary attack verification and, if appropriate, initiate the CERT process. - � Provide 2nd and 3rd level problem resolution and troubleshooting support for a number of security services components. - � Assess the risk and policy adherence of every security system change request related to production security services. - � Use process management tools to track information about security systems administration requests and security events. - � Participate in all process development activities focused on Security System Administration and Security Event Monitoring processes. - � Author security system specific operations and management documentation including as-built service configuration documents and operations and management procedure documents. - � Author security procedures and policies in customer presentable form. Technologies: Sun Solaris Sparc, Sun Solaris X86, RedHat Linux, MS Windows 2000/XP, Apache, Cisco IOS ACL, Cisco/Arrowpoint Load Balancers, TCP/IP protocol suite including routing protocols (OSPF, RIP, etc.) You should possess a strong understanding of the various open source tools to harden networks and systems as well as knowledge of tools that will clearly show vulnerabilities. Experience Required: - � Degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or the equivalent) and 5 years of experience in security system administration and security monitoring work. - � Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills. - � Proven customer interface management and customer service skills. - Ability to prioritize and manage a large number of complex security system change requests while ensuring a high degree of work quality.
