Security Sales Engineer Description: Working in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, and Product Managers, the Sales Engineer (SE) will be the technical bridge between our Sales Representatives and their pre-sales customers. The SE will take ownership of the prime technical relationship with our pre-sales customers to drive customer satisfaction by proactively managing and delivering technical information to our customers both onsite, online, and via telephone. Responsibilities: Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment under minimal supervision to provide detailed technical knowledge of Company�s software products within pre-sales customer environments Work with the Product Managers to enhance Company�s products with new features that address customer needs Effectively interact with the engineering teams to provide solutions to complex technical issues Must be able to travel and perform sales presentations, marketing and user group events, and emergency on-site support to customer locations Share best practices with other SEs to enhance the quality and efficiency of the other members Maintain and expand working knowledge of current and beta (non-released) Company�s products Participate in Company�s beta testing programs including internally testing products in alpha and beta phase Must be able to provide software/network troubleshooting on complex technical issues Assist in development of the Knowledge Base by entering solutions Participate in alliance projects including building vendor relationships Provide consultation to pre-sales customers and help clients with planning and implementation of Company�s software products Provide product training to both sales and Company�s Premium Resellers Coach and mentor Level I SEs Requirements: Requires BS degree or equivalent combination of education and SE experience in computer software or systems. Technical 3+ years SE experience and/or technical support experience required 3+ years experience with Microsoft Windows NT/2000 and/or UNIX (Solaris, Linux) Operating Systems, DNS, Microsoft Exchange, and IIS required 3+ years experience in computer software or systems including security products (firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection, content security) MCP certification in Windows NT 4.0 or 2000 required One or more of the following certifications or related experience desired: MCSE Certification NT 4.0 or MCSE 2000 Certification UNIX System Administrator/Solaris Administrator Certified Lotus Professional (CLP) CNA or CNE Knowledge Solid knowledge and technical competence in messaging architecture Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN operations Core Skills Solid multi-tasking and problem resolution abilities Ability to effectively and efficiently instruct and guide customers on- site, online, and via telephone is essential Ability to effectively conduct formal and informal training sessions or presentations Ability to manage own time effectively is a requirement for success Quick learner with desire to learn new tools and techniques Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, account management and negotiation skills, with the ability to interface with a diverse set of clients Solid people management skills Moderate coaching and mentoring skills are essential Mark Location on Resume: Seattle Contact: Suzanne Tonini MTR Inc [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.mtrgroup.net
