The Programmer Productivity Research Center (PPRC) in Microsoft Research is forming a 
Security and Privacy tools development team. This team will be responsible for driving 
development of new research tools, as well as infrastructure to support development of 
other related technologies across Microsoft. As the development manager of this new 
team, you will be responsible for building the core team of developers (initial team 
size 3 to 5 developers), work with an Architect to define projects, provide design 
leadership, and drive deployment of technologies across key product groups. Projects 
will cover a wide range of technologies spanning static analysis (of source code and 
binaries), dependency analysis, database design, threat modeling, testing, and dynamic 
run-time analysis. We are looking for an experienced and hands-on manager who can 
bring innovative ideas and thought leadership to what tools we work on as well as how 
we develop them. All qualified candidates should have demonstrated leadership 
abilities with a minimum of 5 years of experience in development management; proven 
experience in delivering innovative technologies, and comfort with re-using existing 
ideas/technologies for devising new solutions. Passion for security and privacy, 
experience with creating applications with large databases, and aptitude for improving 
developer productivity through tools is desirable.� An MS or PhD is preferred.
