Hello,
> It depends on data itself and the way you store it in Sedna > (collections or standalone documents). > Do you use collections? > What is the size of *.sedata file in the database folder? I imported 100 documents into two Sedna databases, one with all the documents in one collection (bbbb), and the other one without collections (aaaa). These are the file sizes in the data folder for the databases: No collections: total 15G 51M aaaa.61.llog 16G aaaa.sedata 250M aaaa.setmp Collection: total 12G 87M bbbb.101.llog 13G bbbb.sedata 250M bbbb.setmp You can see that the bbbb database takes 3GB (20%) less disk space. I presume this is because only one descriptive schema is generated? I believe this is the right way for me to go. I created both databases with the same parameters: se_cdb -data-file-ext-portion 1024 -tmp-file-init-size 250 -data-file-init-size 2048 -bufs-num 16384 <name> I noticed that data loading lasts significantly longer (1 hour) for the bbbb database (with a collection) than for the aaaa database (20 minutes). I also noticed that the size of the aaaa database data folder grows from 14GB to 15GB after I shut down the database. So, do you think that the disk usage will grow linearly with the rest of my 65k files? Should I then expect 650 * 12GB = 7800GB of disk space usage and 650 * 1hour = 650 hours of inserts? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ridiculously easy VDI.
