Hi all, I am a new member her at seed savers. I am just getting
started, so I don't have anything to offer right now. I love gardening
and have been for years. My hubby and I have had to move to a new home
and I am not having a lot of luck with my flowers here. I have lost
all of the flowers that I grew in my last yard. Potted plants are doing
great on the deck, along with some herbs, but the yard plants are not.
Rose of Sharon is the only thing that I have surviving right now. We
are in a rural community and in the "country". We have lots of farm
land surrounding us and I think that the pesticides and sprays that are
used on the crops are effecting my yard. Our tomato plants are huge
and beautiful, but the tomatoes aren't getting very large. The peppers
are doing good (except for bells). I will have lots of Rose of Sharon
to share in the fall. If anyone has any tips on what to include in my
soil to help out, please let me know. I am in Northwest Tennessee. I
am also looking into doing some winter sowing this year to see if
established plants will do better than seed. I look forward to getting
to know some of you and sharing/swapping.
Thanks, Lori
