I talked to my mother on the phone. She is a retired school teacher.
She told me that in summer school, the teachers gear more to the
basics. She said that since summer school was generally for students
that flunked the previous semesters, one just taught basic skills and
knowledge from the curriculum. So then, I was not entirely correct
with my assumptions, there. Lesson plans have to be adjusted to where
only basic knowledge is taught. And she said "the basics" are defined
in school district guidelines. Every district has a different set of
guidelines. Unless your school district lists these guidelines on a
web site, we probably won't find exactly what you need on the WWW.
Therefore your first step would be to check with the Administration
Office of your district. They will have the guidelines of the basic
skills that your students are expected to learn. You then take your
lesson plans and take out anything that does not specifically address
the basic skills to be learned.
