Most of the major on-line companies get their CD information from a
company called Muze - www.muze.com. Muze used to have some of the
database directly on-line but have now replaced the web site with just
stuff selling their services.
Muze also has kiosks in major music stores (for example Bortders) with
the same information.
(I used to work for them - but you will see Muze credited on the on-line
sites).
