I live in Va, but am battling a 12 month long issue with my old phone number and Bell
Atlantic NJ. Here's the abbreviated version:

I cancelled my NJ phone on July 24th of 1999 (YES 1999!) and they gave my old phone
number to a new customer within 3 weeks, before my bill was final, and both of the
bills began to overlap, and I became responsible for HIS overseas calls even though I
had cancelled, and I have the final bill that shows HIS calling card as the originator.

Generally, in complaining about your public utilities, there are state
> agencies for that. Many states have Public Utility Commissions or
> Public Service Commissions and that would be the agency with which you
> would register your complaint against an electric company. A few
> states even have Consumer Utility Boards that will help you resolve any
> complaints you have against your local utility.

> So what state are you from?
