Sam, I have not dug into the site, but I am just going to give you a 
little nudge in what I think would be the right direction to begin your 
research.  See what you can find out that the US Geological Survey site:

http://www.usgs.gov/

Searches can be made on water resources and even through state offices. 
I am not sure you will find exactly what you seek on the web, but your 
state branch of the USGS should be able to answer your question.  So 
find their address or phone number at this site.

Ahhh...hmmm...here we go...try this URL:

That just may be the ticket to what you seek.  Poke around that site.
