Those aren't cookies! They are normal files associated with the many
web pages you read, and they're cached on your hard drive to speed up
the displaying of the pages the next time you view them (if there's a
next time).

Cookies are text files and should be no more than 400 bytes each (or
some such small sizes). My NY Times cookie is 328 bytes.
