I think that this word has many connotations and uses.
>From "disappearing" as in a puff of smoke to all the
other meanings and uses already given. Being a person
who likes to lurk on message boards...I find that one
use/meaning (slang) of the word is to indicate that
the poster is leaving/gone/"out of here". I think you
need to determine which use the non-English speaker is
finding the word. JMHO
