Hello Seekers and Finders. :-)

This is just me doing some administrative yak, otherwise know as
administrative reminders. I really should do more of this. :-)

In the past month and more, I've been experiencing many bounces from our
members that use Yahoo accounts to subscribe to the list. The demon
mailer (mailer daemon) that monitors distribution for our list, does not
defer messages for which it was unable to connect. So if our list
server cannot connect with your mail server, then your post gets
discarded.

I've not removed any of these Yahoo accounts, but rather just endured
the many bounces. Oh the sacrifice I make for all of you. <cue violins>

Anyway, here is a good opportunity to remind all of our members that we
have public archives at The Mail Archive:

http://www.mail-archive.com/seeknfind%40ashlists.org/

If you are a Yahoo member, you might check into that site now and then
and see if you missed anything. For everyone else, the archives are
searchable if you want to find something that was posted previously.

I want to take this opportunity to thank our members who have given of
their time to answer questions posed on our list by other members
seeking information. A special node to my buddy Dennis (aka Seeker) who
has really helped us out in the past couple weeks by answering several
questions. Thanks Dennis and to all others who give of their time to
help others. :-)

As for myself, my time spent on this one list has become a premium. I
just no longer have as much time to devote to SeeknFind as I used to.
ASHLists.org is the main reason. No longer is it just one list, but I
now tend to four lists of my own plus my domain hosts six mailing lists
for good friends of mine. To top that off, I am my own webmaster for
the ASHLists.org web site. Just a visit to the site map can give you an
idea that a lot of my time is used to maintain this site.

The NetSites mailing list, co-owned by myself and two good friends, has
turned out to require more of my time than I originally anticipated.
NetSites is becoming a very prestigious and critically acclaimed "sites"
mailing list and I feel a responsibility to devote a share of my time to
that list.

The POP3 list has become something of an enigma. The POP3 web site at
ASHLists has been the most visited site at ASHLists for most of the
weeks in the past few months. A lot of people want information about
free, remote pop3 servers and are searching for that and finding my
list. Still a small list, it nonetheless has been growing at a faster
rate than any other mailing list I have at ashlists.org.

And lastly, there is my job. I am, to my great misfortune, a USPS
worker. Work has been hell and only getting worse. Overtime is on the
increase for me and I expect it to get worse between now and the end of
next January.

You can turn the violins off because none of this I speak of is
intended to get your sympathy. I know what I am doing and I am
enjoying it. SeeknFind remains the bulwark of ASHLists.org and still
gets my first priority among all other endeavors. I just wanted
everyone to know that my involvement on SeeknFind is less these days for
the reasons I have outlined and hope that you all will be understanding.
:-)

I am pleased to see that it is not such a great a lose for our list as I
see many of our members demonstrate a great improvement in their own
searching capability and the ability to answer questions. I find that
there is not as much need for me to research each and every question,
since it often appears a good answer was had before I ever read the
question. :-)

Let me remind everyone of our autoresponders. To see what I have for
you, send a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

So then, let me just close by giving everyone the unsubscription
instructions. Most administrative reminders have unsubscription
instructions because the listowner figures that their administrative
reminder bored everyone so much that many would want to jump ship. <g>

There is a web form you can use to unsubscribe from this list, in lieu
of the email method:

Thank you all. You make this the best list in the entire Internet and I
am most appreciative. :-)
