I got one. It it my impression it does not respond to any other barcodes
but those signing up with CueCat. Also, I think you must load their
software and sign up, giving out personal information in the process. All
for the benefit of getting more ads about an ad sent to people who are
personally identified.

My questions, to those who have explored this are:
[1]Will the piece of hardware read barcodes into conventional software,
or does it only work with CueCat?
[2]Does this system seem more like the latest spyware/adware we are asked
to install on our computer, or could it deliver useful information?
