Someone e-mailed me this from a Reuters story about Carnival Cruise Lines being supoenaed. I wonder if there is a way to find out what is going with the grand jury. ------------------------------------------------------------- Carnival Corp. subpoenaed Cruise line operator ordered to provide environmental documents and records October 16, 2000: 10:10 a.m. ET WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Carnival Corp. has received a federal grand jury subpoena ordering the cruise line operator to produce documents and records concerning environmental matters, according to a regulatory filing. The Miami-based company received the subpoena Aug. 22 from a grand jury sitting in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Carnival disclosed the news Friday in a quarterly filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. It said it intends to respond to the subpoena and did not elaborate further. A company spokesman did not immediately return a call seeking comment. Shares of Carnival (CCL: Research, Estimates) were down $1 at $21.75 in morning trading Monday on the New York Stock Exchange.
