Hello everyone. :-) Rather than sending out regular "Reminders" type of messages, I tend to do it on whim and sometimes need. So here is some General Information about our SeeknFind list. Be sure and save this post. There will be a pop quiz next Saturday. <g> (1) NO HTML. You are NOT allowed to post to our SeeknFind list in HTML. Period. No exceptions. If you try to post a message with HTML, it will bounce to me and you'll never see your post alive again. Please post in plain text only and without any attachments of any kind whatsoever. As an interesting sideline, I recently read that spammers like to send out HTML messages to you to gather information. If your email client opens the message as an HTML file and if there is a remote image in the file (absolute or complete URL), that calls the image up from the remote site, then the spammer has confirmed your email address. The HTML message may be setting a cookie in your browser's cookie folder or file that will be accessed next time you visit the site. The spammer can obtain your IP address and in some cases obtain other information from your browser's configuration. You might also consider that not only a spammer's HTML message could be an invasion of your privacy, so can that legitimate newsletter to which you subscribe, be it sent to you in HTML. Think about that, Lockergnome fans. :-) Of course, this is nothing to say of malicious scripting that an HTML message might carry that could do harm to your system or invade your privacy.
