File Splitters are one of those utilities that seem to be in abundance, 
including freeware.  So I would not buy one of these.

PC Magazine Utilities has a good freeware splitter called Slice32:

BTW...would you happen to have WinZip on your drive?  If yes, that does 
the job of spanning an archive to floppies quiet well.  I have used 
WinZip myself for just so a purpose.  If you have WinZip, you really do 
not need a splitter utility, unless you just happen to find them easier 
to use.  Splice32 is probably a little easier to use for this purpose 
than WinZip.
