Here is the poem we used when our dog died. I can't remember the name of the
book it came from the book was about caring for the older dog. Hope this
helps.
*****
Near this spot lie the remains of one who possessed Beauty without Vanity,
Strength without Insolence,
Courage without Ferocity,
and all the virtues of Man without his vices.
This praise, which would be unmeaning flattery if inscribed over human
ashes, is but a just tribute to the memory of (the name of your dog) our
dog.
******
I actually went to a memorial place and had this put on a metal plaque and I
also had a picture of our dog along which they beautifully inscribed on the
plaque along with the date.
And here is the url to The Rainbow Bridge. It sounds like the web site your
friend may have meant. http://rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm
