This is one of those questions that I expected to be easy, but I find
myself running into difficulty. Of course, the duties and training
would be dependent on the type of employer to where the secretary
works. A legal secretary would be expected to have different skills
than a medical secretary. Also today's secretaries work more in the
nature of "Administrative Assistants." However, I think you were just
looking for the basic skills of secretaries in general, correct?
Of all the sites I came upon in my searching for your query, this page
seems to be the best I found:
2000 Career Exploration Guide: Secretary
http://209.192.62.235/CAREER/secretary.htm
Also, at the bottom of that page, is a link to the Bureau of Labor
Statistics site's Secretaries page:
http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos151.htm
I would suggest you explore that site, as well. It has links atop the
page for Nature of Work, Working Conditions, Employment, Training,
Qualifications, and more...

I found career specific lists and organizational lists for secretaries,
i.e. a mailing list for Legal Secretaries, but I do not think that is
what you seek. Otherwise, nothing is standing out. I checked USENET
as well and I found nothing there that might suit you.
