Electronic books for free download tend to be books in the public
domain, which are often old issues, like the Classics. We would be
happy to list some sites where you could download ebooks like that.
Modern ebooks tend to cost money. Some sites allow you to read
excerpts of these books, but in the end, you would be expected to pay
before being allowed to download the full book.
As for insurance, I looked around and the few "electronic books" for
downloading looked to me to be a veiled trap for spam. Most of those
sites were trying to sell you insurance, rather than teach you about it.
I would suggest, instead, you go to About.com's Insurance Industry page
and work that site. I think if you will read everything that site has
to offer plus visit the links it lists, you will get a pretty good idea
of the state of the Insurance Industry in the US.

I think Dennis answered this.
