Freedrive recently has been going through several policy changes
regarding the storing of shared files and I got the impression that
they were in a state of confusion vacillating from one position to
another. Perhaps you should look elsewhere for your remote file
storage needs.

XDrive.com is probably the biggest file host, but I'll let you check
out the sites yourself. Here is a big list of file hosts from Yahoo:

http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Shopping_and_Services/
Communication_and_Information_Management/Internet_and_World_Wide_Web/
Personal_Information_Management/File_Hosting/

Note: The above URL is actually one continuous line and should be
entered into your browser's address box as one line. Or just go to
www.yahoo.com and enter "file hosting" into the search box.

Check out that "Most Popular" group at the top, first.

You also can start a private, family mailing list for you and your
mother here at YahooGroups. The Group Files area for every mailing
list allows you to upload files at a maximum of 5 megs apiece and a
total allocation of 20 megs per list. You can even chat and correspond
with your mom via the list. It really works quite well. I think for
many people, it is a better deal than the file hosting services, as
long as you can get by with the 20 meg limitation per list. :-)
