Guidance I'll give. This is going to require a little research on
your part. Start with this Open Directory page of Western Writers:
http://www.dmoz.org/Arts/Literature/Genres/Western/Authors/
You should link to each author's site and hopefully you can find
their birth dates on their sites.
Note in the Open Directory listing there, a couple of the authors
birth/death dates are given, i.e. the famous Louis L'Amour, who wrote
such wonderful stories, was born in 1908 and died not long ago in
1988.
