Not sure if this is *exactly* what you have in mind but....
www.google.com allows you to add the "Google toolbar to your browser. I
find this very handy.
It also tracks your searches and has a site search feature which allows you
to "find the next occurrence of X in current document" (Where X = your
search terms) It is a simple click rather than using the drop down menu
Edit/Find (on this page)/enter search term) etc.
