I had trouble with this problem of bonding two different materials together
years ago. Trouble is that they have different co-efficients of expansion -
they expand at different rates. In direct sunlight or UVL or a hot room for
example, the bond breaks down.
The only type of adhesive that would work is a rubberoid based glue, trouble
is - most of those contain solvents which would attack the styrene sheets.
Maybe they've developed a glue that will do the job by now? Trapping the
sheet with a light wooden frame tacked to the window frame is another
option?
