There actually was (a song, that is), but Ali had very little to do
with it, unless you count that it was about him. It was "Black
Superman - Muhammad Ali", a number one hit in Britain and a top 20
hit here in the States in 1976, by reggae singer Johnny Wakelin.
Probably not exactly what you were looking for (and enough people I
know forgot about it because WABC didn't play it in New York) but it
does exist nonetheless, and can unfortunately only be found on the
"Have A Nice Day/Have A Nice Decade" CD's from Rhino Records.
