[SaF] Hoosiers and Latigo

Two words i cannot find the origins of.  Latigo is a leather but i don't
know and can't find out where it got it's name.
The other..."Hoosiers" only says in the dictionary that it is a word of
unknown origin.
Any help?  Thanks ahead of time.
