I think we understand what you seek. I do not believe you would find
either an online or software source for exactly what you seek. You
cannot arbitrarily decide upon a given set of search sites to be
searched on a parallel or meta search.

However, there are meta sites and javascripts that allow you to pick
and choose from a given list of sites. You can check and uncheck sites
that are listed. Here is an online example from a German meta site
called "MultiMeta":

http://www.multimeta.com/

That type of site allows you to fashion your own mix of search engines
for a simultaneous search. Call it "check box searching," if you will.
:-)

Your seeknfind list web page <http://members.xoom.com/seeknfind> has a
link atop the page noted as "C4". That refers to a meta/portal
parallel search site called "C4 Total Search Technology" You might
visit that site and then click the link at the top of the page that
reads "C4 Me Custom Search"

http://www.c4.com/index.html

Daniel, you might also consider putting this javascript up on a page at
your own web site:

http://javascript.internet.com/miscellaneous/search.html

In looking over that script, it just might be flexible enough to even
include more search sites that the one's given to you. In any event,
it gives you a method to distinguish and mix a given set of 4 search
engines out of a choice of several for your particular keyword search
to act upon. It too, is "check box searching."

Let's note, though, that some of the URL's in the javascript need
updating, but I know you have the experience in dealing with those type
of URLs that are sent to cgi scripts at search sites.

There may also be java applets that do the same, but I'll leave that up
to you to find if that is your interest.
