Melissa, hit LD Online (Learning Disabilities Online).  Here you can 
find many ideas for your needs.  I used the onsite search engine and 
came up with several leads for you:

article to help parents motivate their children with learning 
disabilities, to learn to read:

The ideas espoused in that article will serve the teacher, as well.  
However, I am sure you will agree that parental involvement is an 
important factor in your teaching the disabled child to learn to enjoy 
reading.  Therefore motivating the child often involves motivating the 
parents.  This article will arm you with some good ideas toward that 
endeavor.
