Ah...Francis, it was "tongue in cheek." A joke. :-)
The URL was made up. So was the top 10 jazz.
It was either that or a stern lecture on inappropriate requests.
I realize that "pinups" could be innocent, but the usual connotation is
for suggestive and even exploitive poses of women. Pinups are
generally of naked women...or even men in some cases. Hardly the fare
for our list.
There are pinups of women in bikinis and I even came across a site that
had historical pinups, such as the pinups of the forties which was
quite decent in those days. We also can think nostalgic of the pinup
calendars we used to see in the old "filling stations." But today,
when one hears the word pinups, one thinks of things like the Playboy
centerfold.
A search using the word "pinups" yields a lot of results that lead to
pornographic sites. Again, that leads us into an area that I do not
think appropriate for our mailing list.
If the original seeker has something quite innocent in mind, if they
would write me offlist and explain exactly what they seek, then I will
do my best to accommodate. I personally am not a prude about this. I
am just trying to preserve the integrity of our list.
