I designed my own home page portal site that is called up by my browser
from my local disk drive. Loading the page locally is very fast
compared to loading a remote site, such as a search engine.
In designing my own page, I got to choose the search engines I wanted
as well as additional links for which I felt I might need quick access.
Our SeeknFind list web site is actually a trimmed down example of my
personal home page, if you would like to get an idea of the type page I
use:

To make a page like that, you need to know a little elementary
knowledge of HTML and the ability to pick out the search <FORM> code
out of a remote search site and edit it for your own means.
Check it out. My code is not perfect. I certainly do not present this
to my members as an example of exemplary HTML coding, but more in the
nature of functionality. It is a page very much like the one you see,
that I call up to answer your questions. I find this method works best
for me because I personally designed it to aid me in answering
questions on lists such as our own. :-)
