I've never used Blue Squirrel's WebSeeker or EasySeeker, nor the Web
Ferret program mentioned by another subscriber. It was only just a
couple of days ago that I tried out for the first time the Copernic2000
program.

I am sure all of these software WWW searching programs are fine in
their own right. If you are comfortable with them, and become
accomplished with them, then by all means use them to your best
advantage.

You'll find these and other web searching tools on winfile.com's web
searching tools page:

http://winfiles.cnet.com/apps/98/webtools-search.html

On that page, Blue Squirrel's shareware product Web Seeker does not get
a recommendation, but the Copernic and Web Ferret programs are both
highly recommended. Web Ferret is free and Copernic2000's entry
program is free. Advanced versions of Copernic are shareware. Both the
free Copernic and Webferret programs come as adware, I believe -
displaying banner ads in the interface. You might consider downloading
each of those and comparing them to each other and comparing your own
results using programs like this against the direct approach at the WWW
Search engines.

I will say this much. The skills you need in using the software WWW
Searchers are much the same as you would use in the direct approach on
the web. You pretty much have to have the basic concepts in your head
no matter which method you choose.
