There are numerous job and career sites on the WWW:
http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Employment_and_Work/Jobs/
Let's just take one example: CareerWeb
http://www.cweb.com/
The search page is here:
http://www.cweb.com/jobs/
Let's enter the keywords of "Hair Stylist"...and...one job is listed in
the Houston area:
http://www.cweb.com/jobsearch/joblist.cfm?JobID=509006
&Keyword=Hair%20Stylist
Note: The above URL is actually one continuous line and should be
entered into your browser's address box as one line.
As your friend can read, this job is not your normal hair stylist job,
but calls for a little special empathy. You can also tell your friend
that Houston is sunny, smoggy, humid and hot. LOL...it only gets warm
in the winter. :-)
So then, your friend will just have to research as many of the job and
career sites as she can.
There is another strategy your friend could take and possibly a better
one. Your friend could access newspaper sites online and then look up
their classified section. For example, she might check southern
California newspapers or Arizona or Florida newspapers and look in
their classified ads. It is a rare newspaper that does not have an ad
for a hair stylist.
