As Ben pointed out to you, Dick, you very well can browse the WWW using
nothing more than your Juno e-mail. You will need to learn certain
techniques, but once you master the basics, a much greater percentage
of the Internet opens to you. Juno limitations place a few more
obstacles in accessing the Internet, but there is a degree of help for
you in this regard, from the Juno_accmail list.
(1) First, send for Gerald Boyd's ACCMAIL FAQ, "Accessing the Internet
by E-mail." Address a message to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
...and in the SUBJECT line, type:
send accmail.faq
...you can leave the BODY of your message, blank.
(2) Consider joining two more mailing lists to give you a forum for
support in your learning stages:
(a) The Juno_accmail List, owned by SeeknFind member Brian Johnson. To
subscribe to Juno_accmail, send a blank message addressed to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
...then reply to any confirmation message you may receive.
(b) The ACCMAIL list, owned and moderated by Gerald Boyd:
TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
SUBJECT: {Leave Blank}
BODY: SUBSCRIBE ACCMAIL yourfirstname yourlastname
We cannot spend a lot of time on our SeeknFind mailing list to teach
you these techniques, as it is not topical to our list. However, to
demonstrate the capability you have, send the following message from
your Juno e-mail interface:
TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
SUBJECT: {Leave Blank}
BODY:
URL http://www.lib.umich.edu/libhome/Documents.center/con\
gress/conemail.txt
Just paste those last two lines exactly as I show, on the first two
lines of your message. See what you get. :-)
Alan
