You touch on one of the great differences in the LISTSERV and Majordomo
mailing list management programs. LISTSERV is a centralized system
where every server using the LISTSERV software is connected to the main
LSOFT database. Majordomo, on the other hand, is a free software
package written in Perl and when it is installed on a mail server, it
only affects the lists given to that site. Each Majordomo is
independent of another. Hence, there is no centralized database of all
host servers utilizing the Majordomo mailing list software.
Therefore, there is no single source for obtaining a list of all host
servers in the Internet that have Majordomo installed.
A few references:
L-Soft's "About the Database" page:
http://www.lsoft.com/lists/lastupd.html
The Official Distribution site for Majordomo:

And Norm Aleks' "MAILING LIST MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE FAQ" is a bit dated
these days, but still provides you the best overview of the older list
management software packages and their philosophical differences:

The "lists" command is the same for both LISTSERV and Majordomo. It
should work in each case. An owner can suppress their list from being
advertised on a lists command. Therefore if a host server only hosts
one list -- and this is common -- and if that one list is suppressed
from the "lists" command, then you would get none or a negative
response to your "lists" command.
Not wanting to leave you empty handed, let me suggest you send for the
"lists" on the following Majordomo servers, as practice.
(The first nine are all at Esosoft.com, which uses multiple host names.
Each host, however, lists its own group of mailing lists)
