A Corporation engaged in a "Corporate Direct Giving Program," must file
a yearly Form 990-PF with the IRS. So I should think if anyone
produces a count of such participating companies, it would be the IRS.
I don't really desire to go wading through the IRS. Let me suggest you
read the information provided to you at The Foundation Center:
http://fdncenter.org/
...of particular interest to you is their FAQ page:

...and of particular interest to you in the FAQ itself is this section:

Corporate Philanthropy
Where can I find information on corporate giving?
What is the difference between a company-sponsored foundation and a
corporate giving program?
What motivates companies to give to charity?
What is Cause-related marketing?"
What are in-kind gifts and how can I find out more about them?
What are employee matching gifts?

See what you can learn at that site, Mariah.
