Hello all :)
You know the types of virus that infect a computer through email, do
something to the computer, and then sends itself on by email to others?
Well, I just got emailed one by somebody's computer. It had a file
called Fix2001.exe. I looked at the code in a hex editor, and it
apparently opens the registry, does something, deletes a few files,
substitutes others, and sends out an email just like the one I got.
Incidently, it sends a bilingual message in English and Spamish, and
seems to originate out of Cuba...
Fortunately for me, I run Linux, and I'm utterly immune to it. :)
My question is are there any other reports of fix2001.exe out there,
and if not, what would be good resources to report it and such? What
should I do with this beastie (besides summarily delete it)?
