Hello all. :-)

I just want to remind everyone that the scope and purpose of our
mailing list is to find information in the Internet for the questions
that are sought. Therefore all questions and answers should be in that
vein.

If you need help with a PC question, such as PC system or hardware
problems, the question should be fashioned in a manner that facilitates
answers that direct you to a site that addresses the problem. Members
who answer these type questions should attempt to direct the seeker to
a site relative to their question, rather than go into details from
personal knowledge - onlist.

I fully understand that sometimes it is more practical and expedient to
give a brief answer onlist to the seeker based on personal knowledge
and if this is done with brevity, then we can accept a few of these
type questions and answers. However, I would prefer we not produce
threads of discussion around PC Help questions nor have a day's
questions be dominated by PC help type questions.

I am not pointing the finger at anyone in particular, for I too am
guilty of sometimes trying to help those in trouble by posting PC
advice. I only ask that we all use a little discretion in the matter
of PC Help type questions and limit the scope of these type questions
to the stated purpose of our list. I do not see this as a major
problem at this time, but I was beginning to see a direction leading to
a situation that I felt might be counter to our purposes on SeeknFind.

I've prepared an autoresponder compilation of PC and Windows help
forums that would often lend greater support for members' PC and
Windows questions. To receive this listing, send a blank message to:
