If you detest the sheer overload of ads, as I do, I whole-heartedly
recommend the "Internet Junkbuster". It's a free, open-source proxy
server, available for Windows, Unix (Linux), and quite possibly Mac
(but don't quote me on that last one).
It comes with a good blocklist, which you can tailor as you like. Don't
like an image on a site you visit regularly? Put it in the blocklist,
you won't be seeing it again :)
