I recommend you click the Help link at the search engine you are
currently using. There you will find your best instructions for that
particular search engine.
The SeeknFind List web site has a file that lists among other sites,
recommended tutorials and search guide sites.

Click the word SeeknFind atop the page which will take you to the
SeeknFind list information section and then scroll down to the line
that reads:
"More information and links for SeeknFind Members in a text_only page

Just click onto one of those links -- HTML or text_only.

In either of those files, you will find a section entitled:
"Links to Help You Learn to Search Better"
