Alan
Been busy myself and today was the first time in ages I actually read
digests. Totally agree - with BC
"Interesting comment. : )
This list began as a Onelist list.
Alan moved it to esosoft.
Onelist merged with eGroups.
esosoft merged with Topica.
What's next... a Majordomo and Listserv merge? ; )"
Whatever you do, DON'T go back to ONElist - the recent merger with eGroups
and the uncertainty and unreliability of BOTH servers are atrocious. The
corporate solution was to start Merger discussion lists that, IMO, just got
a bunch of smoke blown into orifices and nothing has changed - slow
connections - site unavailable and mail delivered at much as 2 months late
to some subscribers.
Have you ever considered running your own DNS and maillist server? I have
been offered space on a good samaritan's domain that will come into play in
the next few weeks that will allow CGI AND the person is installing
Majordomo system.
Is it OK if I enquire as to the possibilities on SaF's behalf is that is
not too much of an intrusion or stepping of toes? Please, be aware that the
person in question is in the process of a physical move and this may take a
week or more to get a response.
Thank you, Alan and the rest of the list members for all the wonderful
information and leads on where to look for some of the most obscure topics.
It has and will continue to be a lesson in who, what, where of the Net.
Best of luck.
