Will you be selling the CDs (at a price less than it would cost me to get to Houston)?

Dear Colleagues,
Our first announcement about the automatic depth estimation workshop
has generated a great deal of interest. Since we have received a
large number of questions and there has been a common thread, I did
not answer individual emails. Enclosed is the second announcement
and I hope it answers the questions many of you have.
I encourage you to REGISTER EARLY if you are planning to attend.
An accurate count of participants will help us plan the workshop
by reserving an appropriate conference room and ordering the right
number of lunches.
The same announcement and any further information will also be
available at the Gravity and Magnetics Research Consortium web
page www.geophysics.mines.edu/gmrc
Best regards,
Yaoguo Li

SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT
--------------------
WORKSHOP ON
AUTOMATIC DEPTH ESTIMATION TECHNIQUES IN POTENTIAL FIELDS
Presented by
Gravity and Magnetics Research Consortium
Colorado School of Mines
The Gravity and Magnetics Research Consortium at the Colorado School
of Mines is organizing a one-day workshop on automatic depth estimation
techniques in potential field methods. The workshop will be held in
Houston, Texas, at the Marathon Oil Tower Conference Center, on July
26, 2002. The workshop will cover topics such as Euler and Werner
deconvolution, local wavenumber (SPI), Compu-Depth, Naudy and other
similar methods and also the recent developments based upon continuous
wavelet transform analyses. Tutorials on basic theory, overview of
the methods, as well as practical implementation, and case histories
will be presented. This workshop should be of interest to geophysicists
who employ gravity, magnetic, and the more recent gravity gradiometry
data in oil and gas exploration, mineral exploration, and environmental
and archaeological problems.

SPEAKERS:
Eight invited speakers will be presenting on a variety of topics
ranging from theory to applications.
Dez Fitzgerald, Intrepid Geophysics, Australia
Richard Hansen, Pearson, deRidder and Johnson, US
Jerry Hensel, ChevronTexaco, US
Misac Nabighian, Colorado School of Mines, US
Mark Pilkington, Geological Survey of Canada, Canada
Alan Reid, Reid Geophysics, UK
Pascal Sailhac, TotalFinaElf, France
Richard Smith, Fugro Airborne Surveys, Canada
DATE: July 26, 2002
