Hi all Giving a talk can be daunting for many and quite frankly most people aren't great at it (myself included). With the SEG annual meeting fast approaching I thought it would be useful to share this video about confidence in presenting scientific results. The delivery is a bit cheesy but the content is quite good (https://vimeo.com/189785191). The video comes from a page about Assertion-Evidence presentations (https://www.assertion-evidence.com/) which I think is an interesting philosophy. I am going to try and follow their framework so be sure to come see my talk in Anaheim to see how I do. Another great reference which has very similar advice is the KEGS Guide to Effective Oral Presentations that Greg Hodges has circulated a number of times (attached).
