Dear Colleagues-
The following posting came out on MTNet this AM may be of interest to some. Regards/Ken From: Andy Frassetto Sent: Monday, January 21, 2019 7:49 AM In 2019 and 2020, the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology will establish a new pool of portable magnetotelluric (MT) systems at the PASSCAL Instrument Center in Socorro, New Mexico. Instruments from the PIC are used worldwide and often form the backbone of international, collaborative geophysical research. IRIS aims to broaden the participation of principal investigators in MT research by increasing opportunities for experiments by non-specialists and encouraging combined seismic-MT deployments, with user training and data handling support available through the PIC at no cost. The vision for this new facility is described here: <https://www.iris.edu/hq/programs/passcal/magnetotelluric_instrumentation> https://www.iris.edu/hq/programs/passcal/magnetotelluric_instrumentation If you are interested in receiving further updates or offering input to the Electromagnetic Advisory Committee ( <https://www.iris.edu/hq/about_iris/governance/emac> https://www.iris.edu/hq/about_iris/governance/emac) during this process, then we encourage you to sign up for this dedicated mailing list: <https://ds.iris.edu/message-center/topic/passcal-mt/> https://ds.iris.edu/message-center/topic/passcal-mt/ -- Andy Frassetto, PhD Sr. Project Associate Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology
