Two thoughts.
Mobile phone apps have obviously been around for longer than anyone
thought and how did these people and those that followed for the next
100 years, ever survive without their hi-viz work wear, safety glasses,
jack boots, hard hat etc. Imagine the JSA for a box with hot vacuum
tubes at breast level with knobs one would have to lean over to see.
Luckily you could still get asbestos underwear in those days.

bit more recent (has vacuum tubes so guessing ~1920s), but the
operator gets full marks for having sharp taste in clothing.
