All, thank you for the comments. I am more or less aware what is happening worldwide with Petrophysics. The oil/gas industry is more advanced than the mining industry in this topic, I believe.
My question was different. I was wondering whether someone from our community is also a member of a physical society dealing with material properties. I am pretty sure that some techniques they use to investigate their materials could be transferred to us, to the study of geological materials whether by direct measurements, as we do in Petrophysics, or with remote measuremente using physical fields, as we do in Geophysics.
