Friends of College Sailing:
ICSA is seeking nominations for the 2006 ICSA All-Academic Sailing Team. The ICSA All Academic Sailing Team recognizes those scholar-athletes who have distinguished themselves in national and intersectional competition, while achieving the highest levels of academic excellence at their respective academy, college or university. The All Academic Sailing Team will consist of three classes: * ICSA All Academic Sailing Team, not to exceed 10 scholar athletes * ICSA All Academic Sailing Team Honorable Mention, not to exceed 10 scholar athletes * Conference All Academic Sailing Teams, not to exceed 35 scholar athletes. In order to be nominated for the All Academic Sailing Team, an individual must meet the following eligibility requirements: * Nominee must have a junior or senior academic standing. * Nominee must have completed one full academic year at the member institution prior to the year for which the award is being received (i.e. a junior must also have completed their sophomore year at the same institution, and a senior must have completed their junior year at the member institution). * Nominee must maintain a minimum cumulative overall grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.00 scale * Nominee must be a key starter or reserve on their team. * Nominee may have sailed in any discipline (singlehanded, double-handed, sloops, coed, women) in any capacity (skipper, crew). * Nomination must be endorsed by a college official (sports information director, club sports official, team advisor, coach, etc.). * Nominations and required documentation must be received by 5:00 P.M. E.D.T. on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 (details below). Further information can be found at www.collegesailing.org/policy/aastpolicy.pdf. Nominations shall be submitted to the AAST Committee Chairman using the nomination form available from the ICSA website (www.collegesailing.org/docs/AAST2006.pdf), and following the instructions on that form exactly. All nominations and required documentation must be received by 5:00 P.M. E.D.T. on Wednesday, July 5, 2006.
