Here are some things that *must* be taken care of by everyone before you
compete in the SEISA events this weekend.

ALL sailors are required to register with the ICSA Individual Directory
prior to competing, and must "indicate eligibility" for the current
season. If you do not do this you cannot compete!

**Please note** if you have registered for previous seasons, you must search
on your name and select to edit the listing.

Captains: Make sure your school's Team Database listing is up to date.

Also: teams must comply with ICSA PR 13
SAFETY a) Swimming Requirement - The Faculty advisor, coach, or other
college official shall certify, when a student registers with a district
association, that the student is able to swim at least 50 yards and tread
water for five minutes in fresh water while wearing boots, shoes, or
sneakers.

I am also pleased to announce that we have two new teams attending events
this weekend with the hope of becoming provisional SEISA members. The
University of Central Oklahoma will attend OSU Fall and Loyola University
will attend Southern Hospitality at USA. Please make an effort to meet these
new teams and show them a good time.

Our SEISA Facebook group has reached 100 members, please continue to check
it for news and updates as well as posting regatta reports and pictures.
Teams not represented in the group: SMU, Baylor, Rice....

Risk Management: While on the subject of team Facebook groups and websites.
I strongly urge teams to only put regatta, practice, and non incriminating
"social" photo's on your respective sites (there is already one team in
serious jeopardy) . I know Texas's Rec Sports Department regularly checks
team websites for evidence that University policy is being violated and that
some teams have already been punished (loss of funding, travel restriction
etc...). Besides, our football players (who are subject to coach and NCAA
supervision) roll with guns and drugs so God only knows what the largely
unsupervised Rec Sports teams do..... Keep the pictures to yourselves.

I have attached a copy of UT's Personal Responsibility agreement. It would
be a good idea if each team had one of these.

Teams that have interest in SEISA Sloop Champs please let me know soon so I
can finish planning! Good luck this weekend.

Cheers,
Blake Billman
