SEISA had its annual meeting last weekend, here are the results of those
discussions.

Sincerely,
Blake Billman
SEISA Graduate Director

Officer reports:
Paul Kleinschrodt, Undergraduate President (USA): News from the ICSA Winter
meeting: Pinnies are now required for all competition. Sloops will remain as
a National Championship, but a committee was created to improve it. There
will be an increasing emphasis on Team Racing in the spring. A committee
was assigned to create a design space for a new collegiate dinghy, Blake is
the district rep to this group, but all opinions are welcome, encouraged,
and should be submitted. Paul was re-elected as SEISA President

Jaci Wolf, Undergraduate VP (OU): report forthcoming. Jaci has graduated
from OU and could not attend. Chris Burd (Tulane) was elected to replace
her.

Blake Billman, Graduate Director/Scheduling (Texas): Reviewed the new
national semifinal format. Emphasized sailor and team registration with the
ICSA. Failed to fully enact the All-SEISA team directive from last years
meeting. Continued progress on the SEISA and Development handbook, with a
probably completion date sometime this semester. Minor scheduling changes
due to the new semifinals. Blake was re-elected as the Graduate Director and
Scheduling Chair.

Robin Reger, Treasurer (TAMUG/LSU): report forthcoming. SESIA is solidly in
the black (a vast improvement), but the membership still wants better
communication from the treasury and a plan to drastically improve its
financial situation. Alli Jones (Kansas) has volunteered to work with the
Treasurer to improve SEISA's financial leadership and develop a growth plan.

Nataleigh Vann, Women's (Texas): Nataleigh did not run for re-election.
Rachel Ellis (SMU) was elected in a race against 3 other candidates.

Derek Whallen, Communications (A&M): The most successful officer from last
year, SEISA has an entirely new website. Derek was re-elected as
Communications Chair.

Karl Kleinschrodt, Membership (USA): Paul mentioned that this year he had
more difficulty because fewer programs contacted him for help. Membership is
a serious problem in SEISA, last year we seemed to be expanding, this year
we contracted. Karl was re-elected as Membership Coordinator.

Jake Scott, Competition (A&M): report forthcoming, Jake was not able to
attend. Emphasis continues to be on increased coaching and team racing
skills. Jake was re-elected was competition chair.

Hugh Haggerdy, Development (A&M Galveston): no report, Hugh did
not attend. Blake was elected to fill this position.

Team attendance:
- 15 teams attended, 4 were absent: Auburn, Kansas State, LSU, and Central
Oklahoma. A&M Corpus was promoted to Provisional membership.

Old Business:
- The Sloop Nationals hosted by SEISA and the Fort Worth Boat Club was a
huge success. The lack of action on the All -SEISA team was addressed and
the awards will be presented soon.

- Preliminary planning must begin to host the national semi in 2010,
probably at Texas

Review of Spring 2008 Schedule:
- an SMU regatta was added to weekend 4 (2/23-24)
- a UWF regatta was added to weekend 7 (3/15-16)

Championships:
