Event Highlights:
Galveston Open Fleet & Team Race

TAMUG was excited to host the 2010 open fleet and team racing event.

Saturday racing began at 1145 with easterly winds starting at 10mph. Sailors found the wind to be shifty with puffs up to 14mph and lulls 8-10mph. Windward/leeward courses were set with a leeward gate, courses were twice around. A combination of TAMUG alumni, TAMUG, UT, and USA sailors filled 16 boats. A number of practice starts and 16 races were completed. . When races were completed everyone enjoyed a crawfish boil - Thank you Sean Gravolet, Cody Macon, Gerard Coleman and Brad Winslett for making the boil possible!

On sunday 3 teams were formed with a combination of TAMUG and UT sailors (plus Coach & Derek W.) for the 3v3 team race. Winds ranged from 6-8mph ESE. 3 rotations were completed for a total of 9 races on a N-course.

Thanks to everyone who made this event possible and for USA & UT for making the event even more successful. We hope to repeat this event next year!
